Overview
Responsibilities:
- Supervising the technical and clerical staff assigned within the laboratory
- Coordinating the performance of routine and special procedures with available manpower, equipment and reagent/supply sources
- Monitoring turnaround times to insure timely availability of results to patient care areas
- Training of new hires
- Monitoring quality control and quality assurance metrics to insure accurate resulting and patient safety
- Maintaining skills in associated areas of responsibility
- Performing and assisting in a variety of administrative activities related to assigned clinical sections
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology program from an accredited institution required
- Blood Bank experience required
- ASCP or equivalent certification preferred, ASCP eligibility required
- Previous supervisory experience or leadership role preferred
- Satisfies education and experience requirements as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA)
COMPENSATION:
- Base Salary – USD $50,000 to $75,000
